Active Parent Involvement

Working Together for a Strong School Community

At German School Shanghai, parents play an active role in shaping school life and strengthening our community. As class representatives or members of the Parent Council, they serve as an important link between the school and its families. They encourage dialogue, organise celebrations and activities, support projects and contribute to a wide range of committees.

A Committee by and for Parents

The parent council is the central point of contact for parents and guardians. It promotes open dialogue and constructive collaboration between families, the school leadership, administration and educational teams. Representatives are elected across both campuses from all areas of the school – Kindergarten, Primary School and Secondary School – ensuring that the interests of each area are represented. These representatives form the school-wide parent council, which consists of nine parent representatives.
