Located in northeastern Shanghai, the Yangpu Campus opened in 2020 in a district known for its concentration of educational institutions, research facilities and innovation hubs. Yangpu is one of Shanghai’s leading green urban districts, with more than 60% of its area covered by greenery. Close to the city centre, the district offers outstanding local and international educational resources. More than 200,000 school and university students study in the area, which is home to several of China’s renowned higher education institutions.
Intercultural Hubs for Learning and Exchange in Shanghai’s Qingpu and Yangpu Districts
German School Shanghai and the French School of Shanghai opened their first Eurocampus in Qingpu in 2005 and their second in Yangpu in 2020. The Eurocampuses provide a valuable platform for intercultural learning and community building, actively encouraging exchange and collaboration between German and French students. Joint projects, regular student exchanges and activities in areas such as music and the arts create a unique and enriching learning environment, bringing a little piece of Europe to the heart of China’s largest metropolis. Shared facilities, including the Fine Arts Center, sports facilities and canteens, further strengthen the connection between the two school communities.
