Chinese traditions and festivals are an important part of everyday life at the German School Shanghai. In recent days, we have been celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with a wide range of activities.

Especially in Kindergarten, the children explored the traditions surrounding the festival in an engaging way. They brought the story of Chang’e and Houyi to life through little plays, discovering the traditions and stories behind this special celebration while getting to know more about Chinese culture.

And of course, no Mid-Autumn Festival would be complete without a culinary tradition: the children made their own mooncakes, tasted them and enjoyed this much-loved Mid-Autumn Festival tradition together.
