Colourful school cones, big smiles and plenty of excitement – our new first graders had a wonderful start to their school journey at the German School Shanghai!
At the welcome ceremony, students from Grades 2 and 3 took to the stage with songs and short performances, giving our youngest students a fun first glimpse of school life – from the ABCs and numbers to reading, writing and maths.
Our mascot Yangqiao was, of course, also there to welcome the new students and make their first day extra special. Then it was time for their very first lesson in the classroom!
We wish all our first graders a fantastic start, lots of joy in learning, and plenty of fun discovering everything primary school has to offer.
And the new school year got off to a festive start for our entire school community, too: traditional lion dances welcomed everyone at both campuses. Here’s to a successful and wonderful 2026/27 school year!
