The German School Shanghai is one of the largest German schools abroad in the world. At its two campuses in Shanghai Hongqiao and Yangpu, it provides education of the highest standard for around 1,100 children and young people. To expand our team, we are looking for an experienced teacher (m/f/d) for upper secondary education, specialising in a combination of subjects including German, History, Geography, Chinese and Music, to start on 1 August 2027. Various subject combinations are welcome! The role involves actively contributing to school and teaching development, as well as working within year group and subject teams.
You will bring:
- a completed teacher training programme (1st and 2nd state examinations or an equivalent Austrian/Swiss qualification) and at least 2 years’ professional experience
- A commitment to the further development of the school and teaching
- Flexibility, resilience, curiosity and a positive attitude to work
- Ability to work as part of an international teaching team
- A willingness to go beyond teaching duties
- Experience and confidence in using computers as a teaching tool
- Good command of English
- Willingness to take part in joint projects with the French school at Eurocampus and the Chinese partner school
